Our Story
From humble beginnings, Wild Country Fine Foods (NZ) Ltd commenced operation in 1995. It all started with the idea of using interesting bottles to compliment the range of flavoured olive oils and vinegars that were developed for the ever changing gourmet palate.It is not just olive oils and vinegars that makes Wild Country a successful New Zealand business. Wild Country expanded its operation in 1998 to include a range of tasty chutneys, jams, relishes and pickles developing recipes and introducing New Zealanders to new tastes. Many New Zealanders still make their own preserves with the produce that grow on trees at home or from family gardens. They tend to make recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation. Our philosophy is not to compete with these people, they love what they do and we wouldn't want to change that for the world, but we can add another dimension to these recipes using exciting and not necessarily readily accessible ingredients and introduce our customers to new taste experiences.
Wild Country products are all natural. We use only the best ingredients and no artificial colours or preservatives in our products.
Angelique van Camp is the daughter of the well known chocolate manufacturer, Van Camp, an extremely successful business in the 70s and 80s producing some of the first european style chocolates in New Zealand. Angelique and her husband Stephen (who also has a passion for food) are now based in rural Waikato New Zealand. Wild Country is currently planning to grow and cultivate key ingredients required to make this superb range of gourmet foods. With their joint marketing and advertising experience, Wild Country is growing both locally and now internationally.
